What if Joe Biden loses in November?

A month ago the polls had Joe Biden ahead of President Trump by double digits. In the last 2 weeks that gap has closed significantly with some National polls actually showing a Trump win. At the very least Trump’s downslide has stopped and his approval ratings in a summary of a dozen polls on Realclearpolitics.com has pretty much returned to the 43% it has been around for much of his presidency. A Monmouth University poll that came out yesterday shows Trump 48% to Bidens 45%….a point lead WITHIN the margin of error. Any momentum Biden seemed to have in June has stopped. His average lead in an aggregate of polls is now closer to 7-9 points…….not much different than Hillary Clinton’s lead over Trump was around the same time from the 2016 election!

So it’s clear that the Democrats better not celebrate too quickly. There’s still a lot of things that can go wrong for Biden. The Covid pandemic is apparently slowing which will I think lead to a HUGE economic rebound as businesses and people get back to work. If school openings are successful and vaccine news is good it will benefit Trump. (Kind of amazing that GOOD things happening are BAD for the Democrats). There’s also a lot of discussion about Biden SKIPPING debates because “he doesn’t need to with the lead he has”. Well that’s a lot of nonsense and over 60% of Americans think Biden has cognitive problems and if he DOESN’T debate it will only confirm their belief. I personally think Biden is well past the point of being able to debate Trump successfully and is surely at the least suffering from “age related cognitive decline”.

President Donald Trump has a 91 per cent chance of winning the November 2020 election, according to a political science professor who has correctly predicted five out of six elections since 1996. “The Primary Model gives Trump a 91 percent chance of winning in November,”…… said Stony Brook professor Helmut Norpoth . Mr Norpoth claims that his model, which he curated in 1996, would have correctly predicted the outcome for 25 of the 27 elections since 1912, when primaries were introduced.”

What would a Biden loss look like? I fear that the “Summer of Love” will look like a block party compared to the rioting and “demonstrations” that will take place EVERYWHERE considering the level of hate for Trump. Every time the Democrats lost since 1968, they’ve called it illegitimate—except for the 49-state landslides. Suppose Trump AGAIN wins the Electoral Votes but loses the popular vote? That’s pretty much been the rally cry of Trump haters for the last 3 years! Then an avalanche of finger pointing will begin. First of all the DNC NEVER accepted Bernie Sanders and his supporters and they’ll be the first group that will be blamed for the loss. Next will be shouts of “voter suppression”, stolen mail-in ballots and lots of other conspiracy theories about “where the votes went”. I doubt they’ll ever admit that it was THEIR OWN FAULT for choosing a candidate who literally was LAST in the polls.

Even Obama was saying he “didn’t have to run”. This from a Vanity Fair article: “As the New York Times reported on Friday, Obama has taken an active interest behind the scenes in Joe Biden’s presidential campaign—not, it seems, to help his former vice president beat out the rest of the crowded field of 2020 hopefuls, but to shield him. Obama counseled Biden several times before he entered the race in spring, the Times reported, and the former president “cast his doubts” about the pending campaign. “You don’t have to do this, Joe,” Obama told Biden, a source familiar with their conversations told the paper. “You really don’t.”

As for what a second Trump win would look like, it’s difficult to find a lot of good articles since the media has already coronated Biden. I’m sure that whatever Trump says he will do is pretty likely going to happen since he pretty much fulfilled most if not all of his first term campaign promises. He will get to nominate another Supreme Court judge, eliminate the ACA once and for all, and the economy will likely struggle back to the best of it’s ability as we continue to navigate Covid pretty much on our own. Democrats will probably persue more Congressional Inquiries and may even give impeachment another go round. Nothing else will get done in DC and We The People will probably draw closer to the point of civil war. It seems we have completely lost the ability to be Americans First and sadly I fear that America will slip further and further from what my parents, The Greatest Generation, would EVER be able to recognize.

      1. I think you are spot on. I don’t worry about me, I worry about what the world will be like for my kid and grandkids.

        1. Thank you so much for reading my post. I feel very bad for the upcoming generations. The Baby Boomer generations were the last to enjoy the hard work and sacrifices of our parents.
