I Had Covid This Week…This Is What I Learned

I knew at some point I would have “confirmed” Covid and this just happened to be that week. It was the first time that I actually had the dreaded double pink line on the rapid test despite the innumerable previous “false alarms” over the past 30 months. When I first tested positive I “slightly” felt like “well finally”. Within several hours that scientific observation quickly went out the window as things went downhill.

First a bit of background about the previous 30 months. If you are a frequent visitor to my blog you know I’ve written extensively on Covid, the “vaccines”, masks and the politicization of this ungodly man-made viral menace. And YES it surely came from a lab in Wuhan. You can read more on that here: https://drjonsicu.com/of-course-covid-19-came-from-the-wuhan-lab-in-china/ WAAAYYY back in January of 2021 I was offered early vaccination as a health care worker with the Pfizer vaccine. Nine months of 2020 had been spent isolating and masking and living in fear as though Ebola were sweeping the planet and at the time it seemed as though it WAS. So much for a relaxing retirement sailing around the Bahamas and Keys like Jimmy Buffet! Well it didn’t take me much time to decide that the “vaccine” was fine with me as long as I could move on with LIVING. I received my 2 doses of Pfizer’s vaccine and was perfectly happy to move on.

That summer of 2021 we were seeing the first big mutation of Covid called the Delta variant. Well Denise and I BOTH had around a 3 week period of a cough, congestion, and achiness but neither ever tested positive on either rapid or PCR. At this point my skepticism radar started to ramp up. Many around me who also had been vaccinated were having similar symptoms. In October of 2021 Denise was hospitalized with pneumonia which is VERY unusual for anyone without other problems like asthma. She never tested positive during that time.

Fast forward to this past summer,2022, when we were warned about the Omicron variant. At this point there were several “boosters” available but scientific data had been coming in on a weekly basis reporting blood clots, heart inflammation (myocarditis) and other symptoms resembling auto-immune issues. No boosters for me until I got some bloodwork to see if I actually had my own antibodies. Well I DID have high antibody levels to Covid , so NO on the boosters. But the absurd crusade of the CDC to stab pregnant women, children, and infants even though kids have virtually ZERO risk of any serious disease let alone mortality from Covid! They NEVER made any suggestion of anyone testing their antibody status DESPITE multiple virologist throughout the world making that suggestion!

One of the problems with receiving multiple vaccine boosters is a syndrome known as Antibody Dependent Enhancement (ADE). The simple definition of ADE is “raising antibodies that don’t protect, but actually make a viral infection even worse”. And obviously, that’s the opposite of what you want. It may very well be the cause of the myocarditis and blood clotting issues associated with some of the unexpected deaths seen soon after vaccines or boosters. We also have now learned that Pfizer and Moderna KNEW that there was no evidence to show that either vaccine prevented TRANSMISSION of Covid from one person to another. But public and political pressure to be vaccinated or face humiliation, prejudice and job loss was based on vaccination as the route to herd immunity. BTW Denmark and Finland have recently recommended that no one under age 50 get any further Covid vaccinations and Sweden has decided against recommending COVID vaccines for kids aged 5-11. Makes you wonder…..

So here I was last weekend, ” Happy as Larry ” as the Brits would say and off to a Parent’s weekend at University of New Hampshire for the weekend. A bit of time in Boston’s North End which by the way MUST be on your bucket list for an amazing neighborhood filled with charming bars and restaurants! Several flights later and back in Florida.

Well the worst seems to have been weathered. Over the past 5 days I’ve had fevers and chills off and on, a mostly dry cough, nasal congestion, a bit of a sore throat, diarrhea, and no appetite. That part has been great since I’m down about 6 pounds! Reminds me of that line, “I’m only one stomach virus from my goal weight!” I would guess that this might be one of the descendents of Omicron subvariant BA.5 which are called BQ.1 and BQ.11. The original Omicron variant was pretty mild and some folks never really know they had it. Well I can tell you that’s not the case with the descendents of Omicron! BQ.11 is apparently VERY GOOD at evading natural antibody levels and resisting current available treatments. As for booster effectiveness…..all I can say is don’t bet on it!

So what did I do for myself? I took a Z-pack (azithromycin) which probably protects against secondary bacterial respiratory infection, gave myself a shot of B-12, took a triple dose of Vitamin D3, handfulls of Airborne and Vitamin C, melatonin, my COLLAGEN SUPPLEMENTS and my usual vitamin regimen. Tylenol for fever and achiness and LOTS of fluids and LOTS of sleep and rest. BUT this one surprised me.

So my suggestion is to eat well, take a good vitamin supplement, vitamin D3, vitamin C (1-2 grams/day), Airborne, and lots of sleep. If you ARE feeling a little fatigued don’t push it and avoid crowded bars, etc. KNOW YOUR ANTIBODY STATUS! We have a long winter ahead of us with lots of “snowbirds” coming our way over the next few months. If you DO get sick feel free to contact me. BTW…….no hysteria……..just good information to be prepared!

In the meantime …….Enjoy yourself……It’s Later Than You Think! PODCASTS COMING SOON on YouTube and Facebook!

  1. Glad you’re feeling better Jon. I have bypassed Covid these past 30 months despite being in contact with hundreds upon hundreds of positive Covid patients. (Actually…and I hesitate to jinx myself…but I’ve never even had the need to be tested) I took my first round of Pfizer and one booster in October of 2021…but I’m done with the vaccines as well. I’d never heard of ADE until I read your article and wish you could elaborate on that a bit. I have dozens of patients ask me for advise daily. I usually refer them to their pcp since I’m just Jan the X-ray tech (whose been working in Urgent Care for 40 years!) but sometimes they ask for off-the-record “what would you do” sort of advise.
    Always a pleasure…jan

    1. Thanks so much for reading! ADE has been talked about a lot particularly by European clinicians. They don’t talk about it in the U.S…..forbidden ground!

  2. So glad your better. Had 6 weeks of double covid pneumonia and it sucked. But wasn’t really sick til day 8, so late treatment. Roxanne , Denise and I got really sick all at the same time and weren’t by each other. We all made it through ok! Always read what you have to say. Love it🥰 Ruth. P.S. It is later than we think🥴

Tell us what you think!
