Is America On It’s Way To A 2nd Civil War?

Recently I’ve been at several gatherings where the conversation centered on the current state of America. Most there were Right leaning but also the “anyone but Trump” members were there as well. Those on the right, most of who were Trump “policy” supporters suggested that it was time to “move on” from Trump and identify a new leader of the Republican Party. The names most heard were Florida’s Governor Ron DiSantis, Mike Pompeo the former Secretary of State, Nikki Haley the former ambassador to the United Nations, Kristi Noem the Governor of South Dakota and others. Interestingly the Left supporters who likely voted for Biden…..or against Trump….were relatively silent on the current state of affairs like the disaster at the border, rising taxes, and the ass kissing of Iran and China. Only a FEW of the debacles we’re seeing in the decline of America. The conversation went so far as a discussion of the possibility of a 2nd American Civil War. I would guess that MOST there felt it was a very real possibility with some expressing the belief that we are ALREADY on our way to OUTRIGHT Civil War! Stunning…….

Let’s have a look at what started America’s Civil War. The war was fought between the Northern and the Southern states from 1861-1865 between the United States of America and the Confederate States of America, the eleven southern states that left the Union in 1860 and 1861. First, most civil wars follow some prior conflict (often a previous civil war or, more accurately, the highly skewed and politicized memory of a past civil war).  Often there is a “leader” whose narrative is about past glory or humiliation that suits their ideology, political ambitions, or even flows from simple historical ignorance. There are examples on BOTH sides of the aisle right now and Dems and Reps couldn’t be further apart! Second, national identity is divided along some critical axis, such as race, faith, or class. HELLO! These “divides” may be exploited by domestic or foreign groups and individuals committed to redistributing wealth or power. Think Russia, China, Blacks vs. Whites, “Privileged” vs impoverished, Vaccinated vs. Unvaccinated or any other schism MSM can rake up and use as nightly “news”. I frankly consider the MSM the most dangerous of all!

Third, You need a shift from “tribalism” to “sectarianism”. Let me explain. Tribalism is defines as “the behavior and attitudes that stem from strong loyalty to one’s own tribe or social group.” Sectarianism is defined as “excessive attachment to a particular sect or party, especially in religion.” With tribalism, people begin to seriously doubt whether other groups in their country have the larger community’s best interests at heart. In sectarian environments though, economic, social, and political elites and those they represent come to believe that anyone who disagrees with them is evil and actively working to destroy the community. Enemies of the State, traditionally countries like Russia and China, are replaced by enemies from WITHIN. An example of this would be Republican vs. another Republican that doesn’t follow the “party line”…..like voting for Trump’s impeachment. Or Democrats that aren’t progressive and socialist enough for the AOC Gang.

Certainly MORE than enough to at least CONSIDER the possibility of a Second Civil War! How did we get to this point? Liberals would like you to believe that the Republican Party has only been able to stay at roughly 50-50 in Congress due to unfair voting practices. But they completely IGNORE obvious voting irregularities in the last 2 elections! In fact the Dem Party line and MSM “tell us” that there was none on a daily basis! They ignore that NEVER in U.S. history were votes literally SOLICITED by sending ballots to virtually every American alive or dead that they could get an address for!! And now they also want the vote for ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS!

In the “old days” Congress used to be able to work “across the aisle” and occasionally agree on a bill that actually WAS good for America. Now sectarianism has replaced that with infighting among those in the same party. This has gridlocked America and we’ve seen astronomical growth of Executive Orders to get anything done! Trump issued 220 in his 4 years. Obama 276, Clinton 291 and G.W. Bush 254 in their 8 years in office….and so THAT has been the way America legislates!

As for the MSM, the 90’s saw the arrival of cable news like CNN, MSNBC, and Fox. This wasn’t our parent’s “news” like Huntley and Brinkley. This was highly scripted and opinionated stories that function more as propaganda. Goebbels would have been proud! As for Covid you couldn’t have added a more potent fuse to perhaps actually throw us into the next civil war. Talk about sectarianism taking the place of tribalism! You practically have a 50/50 split over taking the vaccine! Every state has adopted it’s own way of dealing with this pandemic NONE OF WHICH seems to have made any difference whatsoever in terms of number of cases, mortality rate or positivity rate! I was in New Jersey this week for my Nephew’s delayed wedding. They are CRAZY AFRAID up there…..in many cases DESPITE being vaccinated. People literally are still afraid to come within 10 feet of each other. I went to a high school track meet and there were KIDS running in events wearing a mask!! The woman next to me literally WHISPERED to me that she agreed with me and that it was all crazy up there. She was a Trump/Republican and didn’t dare to say it above a whisper. I was in a grocery store with everyone standing literally 20 feet back from the registers. 2 were opening up and I said to the woman in front of me “which one are you going to?” and she answered “I don’t know, they haven’t told me where to go yet”….WHAT???? I live in Florida and you almost wouldn’t know Covid even existed! Thank you Governor Ron DiSantis who by the day is looking more and more like the next Republican Presidential nominee because of his common sense! WHEN the next wave of Covid hits….and it will if the MSM has anything to say about it……those states like NJ will lock down the first chance they get! As for “vaccine passports”…..talk about segregation? Your kids who are at virtually no risk will be made to take the vaccine to return to school whether you like it or not. Want to go on a trip, stay in a hotel, attend a show or football game? May I see your passport please or else you don’t get in! Covid may very well have already lit the fuse to civil war. So how likely is out and out conflict? I don’t know, but all the ingredients are there and then some. Throw in limits to 2nd amendment rights (that’s gun control), voting by illegals, unlimited abortion, higher taxes, taking away individual’s 1st amendment rights (freedom of speech), higher rates of inflation and unemployment, more free money being printed 24/7, rigged elections, beatification of felons who resisted arrest, dis-empowering and defunding police and you have ALL THE MAKING OF THE NEXT CIVIL WAR. Can we do anything to avoid it……I don’t think so……I think we’re well on our way.
